CHO-Power in Morcenx (France): a first in Europe
Showcasing the technological know-how of CHO-Power, the Morcenx plant (France) is currently under commissionning start-up.
It uses ordinary industrial waste from the region (37,000 tonnes/year) and wood chips (15,000 tonnes/year). All the electricity is sold on to EDF, the high-voltage network being nearby. Additional production of 18MW of hot water from the heat generated by the process fuels a vegetable greenhouse and a wood fire drier.

The project fits in with European and French energy contexts promoting the use of continuous source renewable energy with low CO2 emissions.
The project is promoted by CHO Morcenx SAS. Construction has been entrusted to CHO-Power SAS and the operation to INERTAM SAS , both EUROPLASMA group companies.
The plant is located on land adjacent to Inertam in the area of Cantegrit West.
